Navigating Declining Enrollment with Success
Thurs., April 17 | 10:15-11:15 am

California school districts are seeing a sharp rise in declining enrollment since the pandemic. More districts will likely lose students over the next decade, with projections showing a drop of 500,000 to 1 million by 2031-32. Along with potential revenue loss from federal sources and ongoing expenditure pressures, chief business officials face a new challenge.

This session presents new analyses from WestEd that reveal cost behavior essential for CBOs and other school system leaders to consider when aligning expenditures with available revenues.

Hosted by CASBO Chief Government Relations Officer Sara Pietrowski, the discussion explores insights and strategies to successfully navigate challenges from WestEd Senior Policy Fellow Jason Willis and other working school business officials.
